Product Detail
This is a Fisher & Paykel 350 - Watt defrost element designed for fridges and freezers. It's a Qualtex part, numbered RFP014B. It's very similar to genuine parts FP821730P, 821730P and Qualtex parts RFP014, RFP014A. The U - shaped defrost heating element is perfect for the freezer compartment of some 680 series Fisher & Paykel frost - free refrigerators and freezers that use R134a gas, but it won't work with models using R600a gas. With a power of 350 Watts, it operates on 240 Volt AC and has a resistance of 165 ohms. It measures 460mm wide, with bent - up ends of 200mm and 160mm, and comes with bare - end flyleads. Neither a plug nor inline fuses are included. It fits 680 series no - frost fridge/freezer models like E361T, E406B, E413T, E440T, E441T, E442B. You'll need to splice the original plug, wires, and over - temp fuses onto the element wires. Some original elements in these models had much shorter bent - up ends. We've been in the appliance parts business for over 25 years, so you can buy with confidence.
Using this defrost element is straightforward. First, make sure your fridge or freezer is unplugged to avoid any electrical hazards. Take out the old defrost element carefully. Then, splice the original plug, wires, and over - temp fuses onto the new element's wires. Once that's done, install the new element in the freezer compartment. When it comes to using it, just plug your fridge or freezer back in and it should start working normally. Here are some important notes. This element only works with models that use R134a gas, so don't try to use it with models using R600a gas. Also, always handle the element gently to avoid damaging it. For maintenance, keep an eye on the element during normal use. If you notice any signs of overheating or if it stops working, unplug the appliance immediately and check the element for damage.
